Discipline — Tour Visuals
Tour visuals are the screen content behind live performance — full-screen animated worlds built to run behind the show, from Miley Cyrus's Bangerz Tour at LOGAN, where every song got its own visual world across 40-foot screens, to arena EDM production for Swedish House Mafia and The Dirty South at V-Squared Labs under Vello Virkhaus.
The craft is scale and endurance: content that is legible at distance, that loops for hours without a visible seam — like the aurora terrains simulated in Houdini for Kaskade — and that can carry a name as large as Michael Jackson, from the Millennium Dome concert originally titled "The Dome Project" through Kenny Ortega's film This Is It.
The practice includes
Stimulated Inc. hired me to create large-screen motion graphics for the Michael Jackson concert at the Millennium Dome in London — the J5 Medley, Dangerous, and Off the Wall visuals. After Michael Jackson's tragic death, I reprised the role for the movie This Is It, directed by Kenny Ortega.
Working with production designer Michael Cotton, I finished the J5 Medley look and completed the visualization for Lightman — a costume of flexible L.E.D. fabric that would open with Michael Jackson inside.

For Kaskade's tour I built the visuals for "Runaway" and "Atmosphere" — particle systems, dynamic smashes, and a series of loopable terrains with simulated auroras, all simulated and rendered in Houdini and composited in Nuke and After Effects.
The hardest part was the terrain: landscapes that had to feel alive and endless while looping without a visible seam.

"Arena screen content plays to the back row."
Tour visuals for Miley Cyrus's 2014 Bangerz Tour, created at LOGAN under creative director Diane Martel with artist Geoffrey Lillemon — a maximalist, artist-driven collision of animation styles across 40-foot screens, where every song got its own visual world.
My piece was the jet-ski backdrop — full-screen animated content built to run behind the live performance.

Tour visuals for Swedish House Mafia, created at V-Squared Labs under Vello Virkhaus — screen content built for the scale and pacing of arena EDM production.
Tour visuals for The Dirty South, created at V-Squared Labs under Vello Virkhaus — screen content designed for live electronic performance.
