Concept Design — Tribe Design
Early in my career I was a Concept Designer at Tribe, the design studio led by production designer Bruce Rodgers. Working under Bruce, I developed the visual concepts behind the studio's stage, broadcast, and live-event design.
The work spanned a wide range of clients and shows — stage concept design for ABC World News Tonight and for DEN (where I first met Bruce Rodgers), concert and performance design for Mariah Carey, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, and Hanson, and brand and event work for American Express, Microsoft (Windows 2000), and Motorola.
Why it matters: this was my foundation — learning to design for stage, camera, and audience at once.
The work spanned
Stage concept design for ABC World News Tonight — a broadcast set developed at Tribe under Bruce Rodgers.
Designing for broadcast meant every concept had to hold up on camera, not just in the room.

Stage concept design for DEN — the Digital Entertainment Network, and the project where I first met Bruce Rodgers.
"Learning to design for stage, camera, and audience at once —"
Concert and performance design for Mariah Carey, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, and Hanson — visual concepts for artists on stage, developed at Tribe.
Live performance is where stage, camera, and audience collide — the discipline this work was built on.
