Photography — Series 05
Growing up in Los Angeles I've watched the city fluctuate and morph. I like photos devoid of people, so I shoot from about 4:30 to 7 am — magic-hour light, soft diffused shadows, a city with different sounds. I've been doing this on and off for roughly 20 years.
That hour is like chasing light — you have to be upright before it starts, and ten minutes later it's gone. The same wanderings feed the rest of this work: abandoned spaces and detritus, the discarded and heavily recycled objects I run across.
